About Lydia Hill

Lydia Hill has been teaching and practicing yoga for 20 years. She took
her first yoga class in Philadelphia in 1988 where her husband was
working on his Ph.D at the University of Pennsylvania. Joan White is a Senior Iyengar teacher.

In 1994 and 1995, Lydia took a Teacher Training Course with renowned
Iyengar teacher Patricia Walden, Karin Stephan and Peentz Dubble in
Somerville, MA. In 2004, she participated in another year of Teacher
Training with Patricia. She received her Teacher in Training status in
2004, and her Introductory Level certification in 2006. This certification required hard work, patience and persistence. Lots of traveling
to study with Janice Vien in New Hampshire, and flying to New Orleans
and Atlanta for the tests themselves.

Lydia has also studied with the likes of Manouso Manos, Kristen Chirhart and Rodney Yee. She has been attending the yoga workshop, ‘Yoga in the Granite State’ for several summers in Enfield, NH, with Patricia Walden and Edwin Bryant, a renowned Sanskrit scholar.

Today, Lydia no longer teaches in the small studio above her garage. She teaches three classes in downtown Burlington at the Evolution Studio on Kilburn Street. Kilburn Street is just off Pine Street, near Recycle North. Lydia lives in Shelburne.
